Involved in a deposition*

quote:

Schiano, who was an assistant at Penn State from 1990–95, was named in a deposition by former assistant Mike McQueary, the key witness that helped imprison Jerry Sandusky for the rest of his life for raping and abusing a series of boys during his time coaching at PSU. In a 2015 deposition, unsealed a year later, McQueary testified that Tom Bradley, another assistant, had told him that Schiano had witnessed Sandusky abusing a child. From the deposition:

A: [Bradley] said another assistant coach had come to him in the early ‘90s about a very similar situation to mine, and he said that he had—someone had come to him as far back as early as the ‘80s about seeing Jerry Sandusky doing something with a boy.

Q: Did he identify who the other coaches were that had given him this information?

A: The one in the early ‘90s, yes.

Q: And who was that?

A: Greg Schiano.

Q: Greg Schiano?

A: Yes.

Q: And did he give you any details about what Coach Schiano had reported to him?

A: No, only that he had—I can’t remember if it was one night or one morning, but that Greg had come into his office white as a ghost and said he just saw Jerry doing something to a boy in the shower.

"Hey honey, nevermind. They said its Schiano's and another guys word against another guy who went on the stand and swore under oath that Schiano did in fact witness a child get molested and reported it. It must just be a mix up."

In the court of public and parental perception,  that still doesn't pass the smell test, frick boy.

lolwut

But for real, y'all want us to admit one of the following:

1. We are just pissed he isn't Gruden
2. We thought we could get a better coach on a redo
3. We were just ignorant and thought he actually fricked boys/admitted to seeing someone frick boys/something along those lines, and we thought there was some legal proof

Response

1. Yeah, he isn't Gruden. Grumors are fun, and so is Santa. Do I need to go into more depth here? People get into the spirit of both. Kids cry when they find out Santa isn't real. Some of our fans are children.

2. Cardboardboxer hit this one on the head. If we thought we were going to do better, then we would all be freaking out about how we fricked ourselves this time. No one is doing that. We made our bed, and we damn well intend to lie in it and sleep like babies.

3. We don't want anyone that even liked PSU during that era. I personally hope we never hire another staff member who is a PSU alum, former player, coach, booster, fan or has even been there (hyperbole, of course). Don't want to touch it with a ten foot pole. You can't burn that stink off. Sorry. I don't have any idea if Schiano knew anything. He said he didn't. He probably didn't. Don't care. No thanks, and best of luck at OSU.
