Not really. There are 14 teams and there are a ton of African Americans in the south

Truth be told, the SEC is the last conference with the persistence to keep running the ball. Which, in a way with offenses today, has allowed the rest of the conferences to catch up competitively. I might be wrong but it would explain the glut of today's NFL backs.
