I find it strangely coincidental that Malzahn's resurgence as a play caller happened at the same time it was announced that Jay Jacobs was leaving. Is this circumstantial evidence that Jacobs was meddling with the offense or is it more of a case of Malzahn feeling the heat and fighting for his job?

2 things:

-Gus officially handed over playcalling
-Gus stopped taking his foot off the gas

It's really this simple. Gus has melted the rant

So you see no difference in the play calling the last few games as opposed to the rest of the season? Maybe you speak from experience of this "full retard"?

Losing to LSU was food for Gus. He realized he couldn’t take the second half off anymore.

That would lead me to believe feeling the heat is what got him over the hump. If not, logically, he would have made the changes after the Clemson debacle.
