so far we've heard mullen and some interest in frost through the rumor mill.
i like mullen as HBC. not my first choice, but the guy i a proven commodity at the highest levels of college football competition.
apparently some issue with frost's agent and strickland's obvious familiarity with mullen.
he's only 45 and already in his 9th year as an sec head coach. has done a good job that bears out over a long time in starkville...in fricking starkville for crying out loud.
could say mullen is still a younger type candidate. just has a lot of experience as a successful hc. ditto for success as an OC.
not sure who he would have as dc. grantham or shannon. haven't looked into that yet. either seems good, but not sure who would have the edge. obviously wanna keep shannon for recruiting at the least.
even though frost and mullen are the only two we've heard about through the grapevine at this point, obligatory coach wish list:
kelly
then in no particular order:
frost
leach
babers
mullen
gundy
i'm sure i'm leaving a few off, w/e.

Call Kelly and Stoops immediately and force a no.
After that
Leach/Frost/Campbell - I am on board with this guy now adding him in. Also from Meyer's tree so down with that.

I think we need a guy with some decent experience. To get a guy with P5 experience we will take on baggage or spend a lot.
1.Frost - he is young , knows offense and he wants easy recruiting.
1B. Kelly- we have the instate talent for his offense and recruiting would be easier here then almost any college. The fear of him wanting to go back to NFL puts him at 2.
3. Kiffin - he is a great offensive mind and has been the head coach at 2 big P5 schools. He has proven that he can make the offense work around the players on the roster. I think Kiffin would take the job in a heartbeat.
4. Bob Stoops - he has coach here before and he is a proven head coach . I think he is the most likely hire .
4B. Bobby Petrino- the guy knows offense and he has been at multiple P5 programs . He is a little risky but we know the offense will get improved ASAP.
4C. Leach - Same as Petrino minus the SEC experience.
All of these guys would make excited about the future . I think I am forgetting someone . Fuente would be #1 but with a 15 million dollar buyout, he is not realistic.

This is why some of us want Kiffin
Per Wiki
Kiffin led the Vols to a 7–6 record in 2009, an improvement from their 5–7 record in 2008. The Vols increased their offensive output by more than 60 percent in 2009 with Kiffin calling the offensive plays.

Looks like Kiffin makes 1 million a year and he has a 2.5 million dollar buyout ,
LINK
Fuente has a 6 million dollar buy out . Unless it’s went up since this article.
LINK /
Petrino has a 4.5 million dollar buyout now.
LINK /
Looks like Kiffin will be one of the cheapest options.
