Wrong. Trump DID NOT start the USFL nor did he sign Walker. Trump purchased the NJ Generals AFTER the first season and AFTER Walker had already played a season.

Well to give Trump his due... he didn't start the USFL but he damn sure killed it.

Trump bought into the league in '84 and pushed them to run opposite of the NFL in the fall instead of playing in the Spring, which is what the league had been doing up until then.

His goal was to force a merger between the two leagues which would make his New Jersey Generals a NFL team with all the revenue associated with it. It was a bold gamble.

That blew up in his face and killed the USFL. It was gone with the wind by '86.

As to him not inviting the South Carolina women's team, its probably more a matter of the White House still trying to get organized after such a heavy turnover of personnel in his first year then a deliberate slap at USC.

No, just no.

Getting away from the OP a bit, but if the WH is still trying to get organized months after the inauguration then there is an issue.

This is why there is a transition for 2 months before the inauguration. Systems are in place so that the changeover happens relatively easily.
