I am sure the players appreciate Smart taking the blame or protecting his players from time to time. I don't even think it is a bad move in terms of getting the guys to play for Smart.

However, the fumble was completely Eason's fault. He missed the corner blitz and did not adjust the play or blocking scheme. I was/am an Eason guy due to his God given talent. However, he has to improve in the mental part of the game to reach his potential. Until then, Go Dawgs and keep moving Frommward!!

I felt bad for the kid. I want Fromm to remain the starter but I really do want to see if Eason got any better and could air it out.

My argument against Eason this season has been how he has not taken advantage of the snaps he's been given. Yes, they have been few and far between, but when he's had the chance to make plays, he hasn't taken advantage of those opportunities. He actually made some good throws today but that fumble really negated the good he did.

I admired his hustle in recovering the other fumble.

Otherwise, he did everything people criticize Fromm over. Stare down receivers etc. Just looked scared and stiff. Which is understandable, I guess. FOR A BACK UP QB.

Even if he intends to transfer, he can't just check out. Other schools don't give a shite about his high school tape right now. He has a whole season of college play. If he doesn't show out for his own self interest at this point, even his transfer prospects dwindle.

I hope someone close to him can communicate this to him.

Delayed CB blitz from the blindside is not his fault...

He looked ok. I don't get why he thinks he has to throw the ball as hard as he can every time. Has no finesse.

A friend of mines kid is somehow connected to him in Athens and said he goes out A LOT. Which God knows I can't criticize but as the starting QB that's probably not the best idea.

If he smoked weed on the other hand he'd probably win the Heisman...I read somewhere it improves your endurance, brain function and arm strength.

If he can't win his job back he might as well smoke it up.

This was an issue with Ramsey too. Not dedicated to his craft. If Eason is most worried about going out all the time, etc and Fromm works his arse off, then they are both receiving the fruit of their labor.

I hope Fields has more of a Fromm commitment to his craft and it should be fun competition for next few years

Watching it back...I agree it was delayed. I would like for the coaches to give a few quick passes when he comes it. Keep it simple like they did with Fromm and then let him air it out once he gets some positive plays

I think Eason will and probably should transfer at the end of the season. I know he probably wants to play in the NFL, but I don't think that happens if he stays at UGA. He better get serious about it, and start studying tapes and working with credible QB coaches in the offseason.

It was a delayed blitz but Eason had his back completely turned. He also had no one open except for Swift as a checkdown, which Eason could have used his cannon to deliver there before the defender closed in too much. Instead of a quick and deliberate throw, he pumped once and then looked elsewhere before being sacked.

There was 2 and a half seconds from the snap to the sack and Eason didn't even look behind him to see if the protection was there. He didn't hear or sense someone coming up from behind and it looked like he progressed to three different targets and was looking for another one when the sack happened.

Delayed or not he held the ball too long. As a QB you have to have that internal clock because that was long enough for a blindside LB to get there too. He doesn't seem to have that clock that is so important for a QB.

Same old thing. He's back there looking for his open man and runs out of time. Fromm already knows where he needs to go before the snap- or at least that's what it looks like to me.

Cant believe I am actually agreeing with you, but this is true. However, he did finish after that play 3/3 with 23 yards

He did a good job on that one but just a few plays before the ball came lose and Vandy thought it was a fumble...it was pretty close....and Eason is just stands there....never even acknowledging that the ball was out and Vandy players were trying to recover it. As it turned out it wasn't a fumble and Eason may have had a view and knew it wasn't but on TV it was close
