Exactly. The kids are dirt poor and schools can pay. Extra. On top of schollys.
The system is garbage but at the same time they get a free education at top universities so my player sympathy has limits .

Yes i agree, they are not poor little used up commodities like some whiners want to portray them as. They are getting top notch medical care, food, free housing, stipends (now), and what is the most valuable, a free college education worth sometimes 10's of thousands of dollars.
All they have to do is play sports and hopefully stay out of trouble for all that. They are getting so much for their athletic efforts its ridiculous.
Compare that to the single mom with two kids who is struggling to pay bills, or the kid from the poor neighborhood on his own...they have to work two jobs and feed her children while scraping by to maybe afford (6) credits a semester (if that is even possible). She would love all the things these college athletes receive and she
They are compensated justly for their efforts, there is no need to may them.Saying that the colleges make a fortune they need paid more is not a legitimate argument. Same could be said for and big industry and low wage people get what they get, ultimately it doesnt matter much how successful or rich the company is getting, the employees will earn what they are designated to earn.
Looking at college athletes as employees, they are receiving so much already for their efforts. What they are designated to get is more than enough for their efforts, its ludicrous to think they need paid a salary as well.
