It wouldn't surprise me if Zion chose to go to Clemson. Apparently his step father, or uncle once removed went to Clemson, and that's all it takes. Then there are USC legacies who wouldn't touch USC with a 20-foot pole, it seems like these days.....

Plus, it seems like Frank Martin doesn't mesh well with the in-state recruits for some reason.

It could just be an incorrect perception on my part, but I feel like this program has had an issue landing in-state players, aside form PJ and Sin (even though he was at Oak Hill).

There's only so much money to go around. Do you think Clemson boosters will waste their funds on basketball, when their investment in football is paying such dividends?

Zion is likely headed to Kentucky. Martin wants him, but Martin doesn't "need" him. This is Calipari's wheelhouse.
