I'm going to need to see some games that aren't against an elite defense before I start damning the offense.

Things I noticed were less downhill running early on than I would've liked, Hurts has improved his deep ball (still needs work but much better than last year), playcalling seems a little more practical.

I like how we just clamped down on the running game once we got up. That didn't use to happen under Kiffin who got all trigger happy with his tomfoolery once he thought we had a lead. I like the method of choking out the other team and the clock at the same time. We know that works...good to see it back.

Make no mistake, we won't see a defense like that until maybe LSU. Plenty of time to work out whatever kinks we seem to have.

The kicking game is still the biggest thing that worries me.

I said the same but isn't it troubling to know that if our opponent has a stout defense we aren't gonna be able to pass for more than 100 yds or score many points? Last year's excuse was that we had a true freshman quarterback. How many times this year are we going to say "well, they had a good defense"? Will be nice to be able to stop making excuses and actually get the job done.
