Mike Gundy. He's a man. He's 50. He's also one helluva coach.

My top two:

1. Dan Mullen. He's turned chicken shite into chicken salad not only in the SEC, but in our division. Imagine what he could do with our resources and recruiting ground!

2. Mike Gundy. He's had 7 9 win or better seasons and 5 10 win or better seasons while coaching in the deep shadow cast by his in-state rival, which is the winningest program of all time, and making do with table scraps of leftover Texas talent. Unlike Sumlin, who now finds himself without a QB and with only 1 WR, Gundy's offense never falls on its face with no one to run it.

Names and concepts I don't like:

Chad Morris is the leading candidate by far.... because he's an Aggie? Just shoot me.

This is not the time or place for an assistant or a coach from a second tier conference to learn on the job how to be a major conference head coach. Go get a major conference HC who is over performing at a permanently disadvantaged school... like Mullen or Gundy.

Guys I wish we'd consider but I know we won't:

Chip Kelly. I think he'd set the world on fire at A&M. But he's got too much baggage for our unaggressive administration.

People who would win but neither I nor A&M would hire:

Art Briles. He would win - the guy is a badass coach - but he's basically Satan's herpes a-hole. Horrible person. Even I don't want to win that badly.
