What does that even mean?

The 1925, 1926, 1930 and 1934 teams all went undefeated and won the Rose Bowl. I have no problem with them being recognized as national champions. In the poll era (post-1936) all except 1941 won the AP and/or Coaches Poll. 1961, 1964, 1965, 1973, 1978, 1979, 1992, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2015 all won either the AP or the Coaches Poll or both.

1941 is a sham, it should be thrown off a cliff.
