Also because touchdowns were worth 5 points, field goals 4, you only had 3 downs, teams decided how long the game would be at their own choosing and after you scored you could get the ball back if you so chose. Modern scoring wasn't implemented until 1912.

It wasn't the same game in 1925 either so...

Edit: Thanks for agreeing with me that it's not a good idea to claim titles decades and decades later after the fact. Oops.
