As is often the case this isn't correct. The girl who had the text taken had filed a charge against the other girls. The AAD was suggesting deleting the info. Still, not good, but it shows defense of the players and not the coach.

If by 'filed a charge' you mean a formal complaint with either university or law enforcement officials, what she told them to do was destroy evidence. That isn't looking out for the players at all. If it involved LE, she committed a crime.
