Wouldn't you think it would have more to do with recruiting than development?

Actually no. Not at all. Auburn consistently recruits higher than Arkansas does, but Arkansas sends more to the NFL than Auburn does.

The only way that's possible is through rigorous development.

Either that or Bielema is some sort of savant when it comes to finding and landing under recruited players.

Probably a bit of both, actually. He is a better talent evaluator and also a better developer than Gus.

Cole Kelly for instance was a 3* kid who, IMO, will prove to be one of the best QBs to ever play at Arkansas.

It is recruiting and evaluation.
An SEC head coach recruits the type of players to run their system, regardless of rankings. That is how Gus took a former SEC corner and won the SEC with him at QB.

Isn't that his only way to survive? He has to find hidden gems.. and land a big fish every now and then, that some of the big dogs were going after as well. You're starting to come around and answer your own questions.

The very moment BB takes a former SEC corner, and wins the SEC with him at QB, I'll give it some thought.
