I had a 2012 4Runner SR5 4x4 for a couple of years.
Was the interior as nice as others in its class? No.
Did it haul arse like my Yukon with a 6.2? No-but it did fine with 4.0 V6.
Was it fuel efficient? Not the best, but as expected.
Was it as pretty as the others? No.
Was the interior space sufficient for loading it down for trips? Yes-it was amazing. Definitely more than my 2-door Tahoe, and probably at least equal with my current Yukon. When I folded down the 2nd row in the 4Runner, you could haul more than my Yukon.
Was it body-on-frame? Yes.
Did it have more stock off road capability than all others in its class? On par or better than JGC.
Was it reliable? Hell yes.
The last 4 are what sold me.
After putting adjustable Bilsteins and General Grabber A/T tires on it, it was good to go. Before that, it rode like a 1980's station wagon.
