Did he play as a true freshman?
Thought he did.
In his shoes the smart thing would be to not play this year. If he stays enrolled at Ole Miss, but doesn't play, then he preserves a year of eligibility, since it is apparently a given he will be able to transfer anywhere once the penalties are actually announced.
He showed enough as a freshman to pique interest. Doubt his stock goes higher playing this problematic season at Ole Miss, plus he might get hurt. No upside or benefit to playing this year.
