Arkansas, Missouri, and to a lesser extent LSU need to be able to recruit well in Texas I think.

LSU produces a ton of home grown talent but their ability to cheery pick recruits from Texas has helped improve them quite a bit. Arkansas and Missouri, except for a few loaded years, don't produce enough in state talent to do without poaching from other areas and Texas is the closest and easiest for both schools to do so.

You want to take talent where ever you can find it, but Texas is a mighty big fishing hole.

I think a staff issue exacerbated the issue Missouri had in Texas during the 2014 and 2015 classes. MU had been winning with 20+ Texas recruits on the roster since 2006. Walker and Jones weren't selling an unknown commodity in 2014 coming off a 12 win season and Cotton Bowl Victory. They landed 2 non factors in the first class as the primary recruiters in Texas. Walker was gone that July. Jones is now the RB coach at Central Methodist in Fayette MO. Yost did a lot of solid work in Texas that was missed when he left.

A lot of people were calling for his head last fall, but 3 of the players that committed last weekend are from Cross's recruiting area. Two are going to join his room.
