No doubt. I've witnessed it myself though. Anecdotal evidence won't get it done. But as one poster said in earlier in this thread, if you catch them dead to rights, there's not much wiggle room.
I know someone that happy suspicious feelings his wife, who had returned back to college for graduate school, was more than friends with another student, who was also married.
He hired a PI, caught her dead to rights, informed the wife of the man, and he walked away with the kids and all assets. The other guy was taken to the woodshed by his wife.
Justice boner.

Good for him, sadly your gender also determines a lot in those cases when many times it shouldn't

You did the correct thing. Hire a PI and stand back. They are pros who know what they are doing.
