Jose Quintana, a pitcher that has been consistently one of the best 10-15 pitchers in all of baseball the past 4-5 years got a top 10 prospect and another fringe top 50 prospect. Julio isnt getting that, or even close to that.

The Brewers do not need a closer. Knebel is 4th in WAR for relief pitchers this year, has a ERA of 1.79, FIP of 2.36, and strikes out 15 batters per 9. He's good. They could use another reliever but they can find a package thats cheaper than their best prospect. More than anything, the Brewers probably need another hitter. Maybe someone to play center since the guy they have currently has been worth 0.5 WAR and is hitting .220/.296/.420, and someone that can spell Braun in left since he is also have a horrible season. Who could do that? Maybe their top prospect who is MLB ready?

The Astros are close to getting Gray from Oakland. The same pitcher that has been a full time starter for 4 years and has been worth 2 full WAR more than Teheran in almost 80 less innings because he was injured last year, and Houston probably isnt giving up Tucker for him.

You bring up Dustin Peterson. The same guy that isnt even a top 15 prospect in the system. Someone that would be a throw in, not an integral piece of a trade.

Teheran, Vizcaino, Peterson for Isan Diaz, Phil Bickford, Kodi Medeiros would probably be good value from the Brewers.

Teheran, Vizcaino, Peterson for Derek Fisher, Daz Cameron, and Jorge Alcala would probably be fair for the Astros.

You can look at it this way as well:

Would you trade Acuna for Sonny Gray?
