Yes it was, and that game remains one of my all-time favorite wins of LSU. There was no one greater nor more feared than Bama's Bear Bryant! For a comparison of what LSU did, it would be like making the New England Patriots coach retire after a loss!

Yup. The prospect of going from complete and utter supremacy to mere superiority over LSU chased him out of the game.
