that's the point. Yankees, Cowboys, Lakers and Horns can finish dead last and it doesn't matter.
Those are the most valuable franchises in their respective leagues/associations.
Joe Fan looks at the scoreboard, the decision makers look at the balance sheet.
GS Warriors, Cavs, Giants, Patriots, Bama... all have climbed the ladder on value due to recent success. None have eclipsed the Cowboys, Yankees, Lakers and Horns.
Horns and Lakers are the best example having been horrible lately and still top value.. which is the point.

I am routinely traveling between Houston, College Station and Dallas. I rarely see any horn gear being worn in public.

From what I have seen Texas does not want to join the SEC
If Texas wanted to join the SEC they could have before Arkansas and A&M.
The SEC's two first candidates when the conference went from 10 to 12 was Florida State and Texas
