Those damn Marquette street kids (Bo Ellis, Lloyd Walton & Co.) just found a way to win. I think that they were the first basketball team that I'd seen wear their jerseys out of their pants....looked like real thugs, but could play the hell out of basketball!

Ellis made a dunk with less than a minute left vs Vanderbilt in the semifinal game to put the game out of reach. Only problem was dunking was still illegal in 1974 and should have not only been waved off but Vandy given two technical foul shots and the ball. Ellis was even quoted in the paper as saying "I didn't mean to dunk it."
