Apparently it was sealed, why? I have no fricking idea.

How pathetic and sick. Hide the victims name, sure. But anyone that does what he did should be ruined for life.

This is just such a bizarre, surreal circumstance. Like others have mentioned, this is completely different than a senior engaging in consensual stuff with a freshman (I'm not debating whether the freshman has "the ability" to consent, what I mean is there's a difference between under age and forcible actions).

It's really very odd that this guy would get such a minimal consequence in the first place, ESPECIALLY for a multiple offense. And BTW we don't even know if it's just twice, we just know it started when she was 4, and the last time she was 6.

Somebody mentioned rehabilitation, I'm not sure where I fall on that... but even if you do agree with that, then surely you must have enough common sense to not then allow this guy to get into this situation. I mean, the CWS is an afterthought, the MLB teams would have dug this up shortly (they're looking at investing millions into their new assets, surely a deep background check would be in order). You HAD to know this day was coming. If you want to rehab the guy, you should also divert him into an anonymous field, like a plant job or something, not toss him into collegiate athletics at the highest level.

So instead, we get this mess. At best case scenario, this guy was actually rehabbed, but now is on suicide watch. At worst case, a known predator was about to become a millionaire.

And either way, Oregon State just had it's once magical season become the worst nightmare it could imagine. The head coach (who may not have known about this) went from a hot commodity, to maybe getting canned... and consider that had you replaced this guy was someone that went 0-12 instead, they still likely would have been a national seed.

Like I said, this is just surreal.
