He'll either be fired or extended after the 2017 season.
With only two seasons remaining in a contract, if you don't extend the contract, you're sabotaging recruiting.
After this season, not only is his buyout reduced to $10 Million (which can be negotiated down easily), but there's no buyouts for any of the assistant coaches, as their contracts ALL expire after the 2017 season.
For information though: The Board of Regents has to approve any contract above $1 million per year and Sumlin's protector and the reason for his ridiculous contract, Jim Wilson, is no longer a member of the board of regents.

Sumlin will be lucky to win 8 games this year and our LSU
ex pat AD is starting to feel his seat get hot.
Not sure how this is going to pan out but my money is on an extension.
This would have been taken care of last year but the buy out was too high. UCLA game will be huge.
