I like this...and like the English Premier League, the bottom two teams from the Elite Division would be replaced each year by the top two teams from the Junior Division. Only the winner of the Elite Division can play in the Playoffs. Talk about pressure to win each year so that you don't wind up getting sent down to the minor leagues...

You made a funny. But it is actually workable. Take your proposal, and still play the championship game.

If someone from the Generals Division knocks off a Blueblood, so be it. Conference champion. The playoff committee will still pick whoever they want, so that may not mean as much.

Only thing is with the top and bottom two possibly swapping, it can mess up rivalry games you want to keep going in perpetuity.
