I don't understand the want or feel that Ole Miss deserves the death penalty for the violations they have been accused of by the NCAA.

It goes on at every school and the only reason anything came up after the draft was because they couldn't nail OLe Miss for anything worth while. So they did something they have never done before. They talked to a recruit from a rival school and gave him immunity to tell his tale. Take it for what it's worth and what can proven. Obviously, the players mother had some interesting things to add to what was going in the recruiting process also.

Less than $60,000 worth of violations, but a one year bowl ban that will cost the Rebels 8-10 million dollars.

Does the punishment fit the crime?

Does $60,000 worth of infractions mean Ole Miss gets death penalty?

Is there a lack of institutional control by the staff or administration? One could argue the administration to be at fault when boosters are getting involved with recruits. I doubt if the head coach has much pull when it comes to telling boosters what to do.

It's a witch hunt, no money bags were found, even the reason for reopening the investigation left the NCAA with egg on their face, nothing came of the request for money to the electricity bill?

So why do so many believe the death penalty is deserved.

Simple, they know that Hugh Freeze can beat SEC top tier teams with less talent. What happens when he can achieve equal talent?

The Tide could be turning and the powers that be don't like for the boat to be rocked.

Ole Miss would lose 10 years of the success they have had under Freeze if they let him go. This is what the "others" were hoping for. This is what the Alabama alum investigating the Rebels went looking for.

Screw everyone else, Ole Miss needs to do what is best for Ole Miss football. No one in the SEC has any room to point fingers at Ole Miss during this investigation

That's TSUNRebel at his best. He also thinks OM's best chance to win the SEC is 2018, as he thinks Freeze is the only coach that could ride out a 2 yr bowl ban and still retain recruiting classes inside the top 25.
