It's actually quite different because no one outside of your circle cares where your kid is going.
Really weird some people are getting so bent out of shape about this. This is what A LOT of high profile recruits do.

Ummmmm, 808's last name is Babb so I bet you do care. Beyond that, yeah, I do care and would ask but that would require asking for IRL info which I won't do. And beyond the beyond....that was kinda dickish.

That's a fair point and the point at which the analogy breaks down (as all analogies do).
But these kids and parents think more people care than really do. 75% of Mizzou fans can't name Knox by name. He's "that one top 10 kid" or "the other 5 star we're after." If they feel better having their commitment on the teevee, good for them. I don't even really care all that much anymore.
