No I do not.
The Force Awakens might as well have been named "A New Hope 2017"
Jedi student turns on his master, later killed a beloved character.
Jedi hero has gone into seclusion and the god guys really want to find him.
Unknown Jedi on a desert planet, a lovable robot, and a guy with questionable motives team up to destroy planet killing super weapon. They even go to a bar full of sketchy characters.
The only thing different is the bad guy lacks Vader's confidence and the new hero is a cute chick. Aside from that, it is A New Hope with better special effects.
It wasn't terrible, but in terms of the best it is well behind A New Hope, Rogue One, and The Empire Strikes Back. There are no Ewoks, so it places ahead of Return of the Jedi but that is a near call.
Rogue One painted the rebellion in a far more realistic light. When fighting a superpower, even the good guys must use harsh means and they showed it. They showed how in a rebellion, not everyone is in it for the same reasons, and they showed that there is a very high price to pay for pulling on superman's cape. All in all, it was far more edgy than the others. They also wove it into the first movie quite nicely and the special effects and scenery were fantastic.

I liked Rogue 1 because of the sense of urgency it added to A New Hope. R1 ends minutes before NH starts and now you really feel the empire chasing the rebels down.
R1 is at the very least, a 2 hr movie where you'll see plenty of recognizable stuff and its got plenty of action. Like someone said, if you like Star Wars you should like Rogue 1. Its just a Start wars action movie. I like that the plot of it is essentially the opening crawl to NH:

This one you're right. It's the same thing but a totally different flavor. The Jedi's a female, the rascal is a goofy black guy, and the robot is nothing like the other two. It's not a copy but a story arc for the descendants. The bar just reminds you of that.

Vader went from bad to good. The new guy will be the opposite. His lack of confidence is probably what will lead him to the light side. As for the cute chick, I have no complaints.
This next one could be the best in the lot. I would also put it at 20/1 there's an ewok sighting.

Edgy? I'll give you that. All day.... but you want to talk about rehash? "hey let's test the death star by blowing stuff up and sending a message." "We will use the death star to crush the rebellion." "we must stop the death star".... "This time instead of a cantina full of aliens let's use a market square instead." "Hey, I have an idea, let's make a star wars without lightsabers"..."You don't think that's too edgy?"..."Nah, let's do it, the non-conformists will love it."
