He's free to go to prep school. We just aren't going to release him from his LOI.
And I think Howland will make it. What is the negative pitch going to be? "If you sign there, and then change your mind 4 months later, Howland won't let you out of your LOI." Oh well.
Bottom line is you shouldn't get allowed to back out of your binding LOI unless a coaching change happens. No circumstances have changed since he signed. Now be a big boy and either go to State, sit out a year, or go to prep school.
He kept us from recruiting other players and took a scholarship offer away from someone that wanted to be a State. Serve your punishment.
If this was the other way, and we decided we didn't want him and denied enrollment 4 months after he signed, Howland would still be crucified.

Fair enough, and I don't necessarily disagree with your stance...but it just doesn't seem worth the negativity you will receive.
