I want a business man, not a good ol' boy ex coach.
Absolutely agree with all of this. I think Ray tries to be a good AD but he honestly is a "good ol' boy" thru and thru. He seems afraid to fire his buddies for fear of not being liked by them
He should have remained our baseball coach...something he has demonstrated a successful ability to do.
I think Pastides, while truly one of my favorite presidents we have ever had, is also somewhat afraid of firing Tanner for fear of not being liked. He could at least suggest that Tanner return as our baseball coach and maybe keep Holbrook in the same capacity as he was under Tanner.

The best thing IMO to happen to this school was Hyman bringing in the YES program.
Sure did it piss off some old fans? yes. But you have to do that to make ways.
He rubbed a lot of people the wrong way but put us in the right direction financially.

This is utterly ridiculous. USC's fundraising is at an all time high. Being a leader isn't about knowing the industry, but about assembling a team and putting them in the right situation to be successful. Ray's greatest strength is knowing where his holes are and putting people around him to fill those holes. Ray Tanner is excellent at donor relations, alumni relations and coaches relations. He has a great financial staff and Hyman laid the groundwork for facility improvement. Your opinion is that Ray is unfit because Holbrook hasn't been to a CWS? Muschamp had a good first year, basketball is at an all time high, women's soccer went deep in the NCAA tournament and baseball went to a super last year. It seems to me that the athletics are pretty healthy and if football comes around we could be one of the best athletic departments in the SEC.
