What does it take for the defense to share in the blame for losing a game?

Nobody wants to do that because the defense is tied to Coach Saban, and nobody wants to indirectly criticize a legend (somewhat rightfully so).

We have put a premium on changing our offense to "keep up with the times" rather than retooling the defensive strategy to keep up with changing offenses.

Huh? We have definitely changed our defensive philosophy to keep up with the offenses. We have gotten lighter and faster utilizing more quick twitch hybrid guys

Some of you guys seem to ignore the fact that the defense played well for more than 3 quarters of that game, but eventually, when the offense keeps turning the ball back over to a prolific offense, any defense will tire. As previously noted, only 2 offensive series produced more than 5 plays, so Clemon got 99 plays. That is 99, as in 1 less play than a hundred. Also noted was the fact that the defense produced 2 turnovers on Clemson's side of the field, and the offense parlayed that into 3 whole points.

That loss was not the fault of the defense.
