There's not very many Hispanics in East Tennessee at all so I'm not surprised by those numbers for UT. I'm half Hispanic with one of the many common Hispanic last names ending in "ez" and since moving from California to Tennessee I've probably had my last name pronounced incorrectly 50% of the time. Not because they are rude, but just because it's not something they are used to seeing around here. It's a very prominent Scotch/Irish area which I enjoy outside of the constant mispronouncing of my last name. By and large this area has the nicest people that I've ever met though so I don't hold it against them
