It's not that big of a deal. You don't fire a coach within 3 years unless it's for cause (generally). If he does well, then you're probably going to end up extending him anyway and this contract doesn't play out. Additionally, in this day and age, $6 million isn't an outrageous buyout number anymore.

Those first 2 numbers are never going to be an issue. The third one, maybe. The last two are chump change and non-factors.

Could Alleva negotiated better? Sure, but at the end of the day, a $6 million buyout is pretty cheap for an SEC coach.
