New Arkansas coach Chad Morris made a splash on the Birmingham recruiting scene Thursday.

Arkansas offered scholarships to five Hewitt-Trussville players -- quarterback Paul Tyson, offensive lineman Pierce Quick, defensive back Myles Mason, defensive back Malachi Moore and receiver Dazalin Worsham.

Hewitt-Trussville coach Josh Floyd is an Arkansas native who played quarterback for current Auburn coach Gus Malzahn in high school. He also coached in Arkansas before arrived at Hewitt-Trussville in 2014.

Tyson, the great-grandson of legendary Alabama coach Paul "Bear" Bryant and an uncommitted prospect, threw for 3,392 yards and 36 touchdowns in 2017 while leading the Huskies to an 11-1 record.

Quick, a junior, has already committed to Alabama, and Mason, a senior who transferred from Pleasant Grove last summer, has committed to Mississippi State.

Arkansas is the first SEC school to offer Moore, a sophomore who's seen as a locker-down corner in the future. Worsham caught nine touchdowns in 2017. Moore and Worsham are uncommitted.

Watched this kid play this year against my son's school, went to this game knowing Notre Dame was really good (finished 2nd in state), but this kid stole the show, wow type athlete.

6 footish and FAST with great hands. Great feet with superb body control in the air. Really hope we get him.
