LSU was hoping to sign five wide receivers, with some in the office even wanting to add six, as they try to rebuild a depleted group of wide receivers. Over the past couple of recruiting cycles, LSU has signed smaller receiver classes, while absorbing a plethora of transfers during that span. Many expect redshirt junior D.J. Chark to test the NFL Draft waters following this season, putting them in dire straights to find the stars of tomorrow to assist the development of its young quarterbacks.

As it stands now, LSU has two commitments at the position in Berwick's Kenan Jones and Tara's Jaray Jenkins. Both prospects appear firm in their commitments, allowing LSU to divert most of its attention on the remaining names. As you will soon find out, there are still a lot of possibilities on the board.

Terrace Marshall, Parkway, 6-3, 200

Marshall is a consensus elite receiver in the 2018 class. He is rated as a top three prospect at his position by every recruiting outlet, and the type of talent LSU needs to bring in to revamp its wide receiver corps. Marshall released a new top 5, which included LSU, along with Texas A&M, Alabama, Florida State and Texas. LSU seemed like the leader early on, but the Tigers could end being caught in a heated recruiting battle with some of the other contenders.

Texas A&M is going to be a contender for his services. He has visited College Station on numerous occasions this spring and summer, and a strong showing by the Aggies this fall could put them in a good position to land the premier receiver. Success on the field is a must, though, as mounting pressure for head coach Kevin Sumlin to win win now and win big will ultimately determine his future. If Sumlin stays, which will be a product of on-field success, things could get really interesting.
