We played a LOT of frosh/true sophs last year and it will show on the field this year. We have plenty of defensive talent that some of you guys forget or dismiss. You just expect the yellow school bus to drop off high school kids at the Swamp ready to play or start....hmmm NO...that's not how it works. Taven didn't play much at all early on...but worked his butt off to be a possible late first round or early second rounder.

Remember Alex MacCallister? Came to UF as a 6'6" 210 lb skinny DE and was what? A first rounder? He didn't play right away either...but the training table and weight room cranked out a pass rushing monster....better than the heralded Dante Fowler.

I swear some of you guys need to be offshore with me in 6-8 footers and see how you fare. Get real and be positive....we are the Gators and we will be ok. Mullen was not my choice...but I'll support him and so far so good. He is bringing energy to the locker room and has a damn good staff.

Lets see how his gameday planning and play selection is and how he adopts to the talent of the players looks in 2018.

I have way more faith in Mullen converting talent than many other coaches just because he was able to get MSU to be pretty physical.

We need desperate help on the offensive line, though, and that's the only one where I'm worried.

Alex was a one down DE. Fowler was much better overall DE. That is why he is making an impact on one of the best defenses in the NFL
