Georgia's average rank over the past 5 years has been higher than Florida's.

what you don't realize is that "average" is a stupid way to compare teams in this scenario. School A could have a 8th ranked class 4/5 years and school B have a 12th ranked class 4/5 years. But one outlier year A has a 15th ranked class and B has a top 2 class. The "average" is going to side with school B although in reality they surely haven't been recruiting better over that time period.

16 class: UGA- 8, UF- 12
15 class: UGA- 5, UF- 21
14 class: UGa- 8, UF- 9
13 class: UGA- 12, UF- 3
12 class: UGa- 8, UF- 4

UGA has been more consistent to be sure and don't have any dreadful classes like UF did in '15, but we also didn't have any elite classes, of which UF had 2 in a row.

Fact is that over the last 5 years UGA and UF have essentially canceled each other out in regards to class rankings as both average about an 8th/9th ranked class.

The mantra that UF is whipping everyone with zero talent while UGA has these mega elite classes we can't do anythign with simply isn't true.

This is silly, the fact is, UF's 2014 class was garbage outside of a few defensive backs.

In 2016, the team was relying on a few Muschamp holdouts on defense, and a bunch of new guys from the 2015 and 2016 classes on offense.

UF had less talent, on paper, than UGA did last year.

Also, despite those strong recruiting rankings, UGA beat UF in 2011, 2012, and 2013. UF has won in 2014, 2015, and 2016 with worse recruiting "on paper".

The fact is, UF has the better coaching, and now that they have resolved the roster issues left by Muschamp, things are looking good.

The outlier here is Florida's 2015 Class. That was the year Muschamp got fired and Mac was hired in December with the 121st ranked class in the country, and in two months he salvaged the class and pushed us up to 21st in the rankings. Outside of that, Florida and Georgia have been very comparable. And despite that class ranking, Florida has had several solid contributors from that class.

Georgia had a heck of a class this year. But Kirby has to prove, in my eyes, that he knows how to manage a team and be a CEO and leader on the sidelines on gamedays. He comes across as a rah rah cheerleader type to me. He generates fan excitement (see the 93k day thing) and obviously can recruit, but I don't think it's debatable that he needs to be better on gamedays. There were games last year where I thought that Georgia didn't have a "winning" gameplan. See the Florida game, the Tech game, the Nichols game, the Vandy game, hell, even the Kentucky and Missouri games. There wasn't any games last year, outside of the Tennessee game maybe, that I thought "damn, Georgia is getting better and they're going to scare me going forward". Winning games 13-7 or whatever it was over auburn isn't how you win consistently in the SEC. I think that's why a lot of Gator fans think that Kirby is playing "Muschamp ball" right now.

Edit: I hope you don't think I meant this as a troll, I hope you respond will a reasonable discussion
