The answer to 1. tends to be 5. Other then the two years we were in complete collapse/dumpster fire mode we play A&M fairly early in the season.
Bert believes in taking it easy in the offseason (he's talked about it being part of his coaching philosophy in). So we tend to play poorly early in the season.
Two of the losses were in OT and one of those came after an Arkansas collapse that makes the V. Tech one seem benign. So we've found ways to lose as well. 4th quarter collapses by Bert coached teams at Arkansas are more common then you would expect from our style of play.
Basically A&M starts off hot and Arkansas starts off cold (every year but this last one we've gotten better as the season goes on.) so taking on the Aggies early on does us no favors.
As to why the Aggies collapse late in the season... I have no clue but I am sure the A&M fans here have some fairly strong views on it.
