Agreed. I'm not too torn up about him personally not landing here. It's more of just a perception thing to me. I'm tired of losing out to the bigger names for these types of guys.

We may not have "lost out" on this one, especially since the money would've been about double what Nebraska could've offered. I'm thinking CBB chose another direction, most likely Rhoads at a much lower price than Diaco would've been. That way we can throw more money towards Rhoads' replacement and a 10th assistant to lure some big fish, which all things being equal would be a smart move.

I wish we'd do something outside of the norm and hire a former "big name" currently out of football or retired like Jimmy Johnson, Switzer, Miles, Spurrier, etc to the 10th assistant spot as a full time recruiter. Throw a mil at them and tell them they can still hit the golf courses and live the retired life between recruiting/scouting season, as long as they hit the trail hard for UofA those few months out of the year.

Adding a 10th assistant is going to create chaos in college football until it all shakes out. So many staffs are going to get raided. Should be a fun time.
