Or a coach the knows how to work to his teams strengths and minimizing it's weaknesses. Mac is an average coach and recruiter his results on the field and in recruiting show that to be the case. We scraped by with Will Grier, LDR, Treon, AA and we'll get pummeled this year because there's no elite defense or coaches to bail us out when the offense struggles and it will struggle just like the last 2 years. There's a reason RS didn't get a high level DC job after Miami and hasn't been one in a decade. Elite talent can mask average coaching. That's what we have in this coaching staff and a lot of players Average. Anyone paying attention can see we're 2-3 Elite classes away stocked with talent on both sides of the ball and adequate balance.

Turning a 4-8 team into a 10 win team two years in a row and the first SEC Championship appearances is pretty good. It's not where we will end up, but it's a good start and now we're getting to where we can start to really compete with Bama and FSU.

How can you say for certain that the offense will struggle again next year? A lot of people seem to be of the opinion that the offense is primed to break through a wall because of all of the talent that's been added since Mac took over. And the defense looked really good in the bowl game with all of the young kids playing. I know, that must be hard for you to watch, because you were really hoping that the defense would be bad. You don't know how elite Mac's first half of a class and the 2016 class were. So far, the 2015 class was really good and the 2016 class had a ton of contributors as true freshmen. So I say that we will be fine. And you're just bitching on here for the attention. Maybe you'll lose your account password or something so we don't have to deal with your negativity all offseason.

I still don't see what you see about UF competing with Alabama or FSU. The gap seems to be widening.

The team Mac took over was 7-5. He's won 10 games once. Let's use actual facts. Mac's had the easiest of schedules these 2 years compared to past UF coaches yet has failed to produce, especially with him being arrogant. I don't think you watch the same game as me. Not scoring an offensive TD vs FSU 2 years in a row, being outscored 58-15 by FSU and 83-31 by Bama and outrecruited by both isn't competing these last 2 years. Its showing up like Missouri did when they won the East back to back.

What talent- we have some guys, but there's little to no reason to think the offense is in the top half of the conference in terms of actual demonstrated talent- at QB best case scenario and we probably have the 7th or 8th best QB...in the SEC, in terms of WR we're probably at the fringes of the top 5, RB- fringe top 5, I mean I'm starting to worry that we're just deluding ourselves- our two best offenses since Tebow left were the 2012 offense (above average efficency just really bad pace) and the 2014 Offense the year Muschamp got fired.

People talk about how Mac is a good offensive coach but let's be real would does anyone outside of Gainesville and perhaps Tuscaloosa really view McElwain as anything more than an average to above average offensive guy- its pretty easy to list dozens of coaches with better offensive track records- McElwain in his entire career as an OC and HC has had exactly 1 offense that even approached elite and only a few that were top 25 overall- hiring Mac as your offensive coach is like us bringing in Cam Cameron from LSU to boost our offense.

If Mac doesn't work out can we try and bring in an actual offensive coach and not simply the "best offensive coach who worked under Saban at Alabama", I'm freaking tired of 5 years of every single criticism being met with people pointing at Bama.

Foley was like one of those South Pacific Islanders only his Cargo Cult is the process. Screw that, next time we hire ties to Bama should be disqualifiers unless the coach can explain how they weren't influenced by their time in Tuscaloosa.

Hiring Saban coaches in college is like hiring Belicheck assistants in the NFL.
