For me, Richt couldn't keep up on the field. He was always recruiting amazingly, but plainly outcoached. Smart might have just put new life into the program, and the kids are more motivated to play.
''Hey, come here with a bunch of 4 and 5 star recruits, don't see the field for a few years and underachieve every year!!''
It's not a good look, recruiting wise. Smart has to pick it up soon, though, this year was really bad but he seemed to have turned it around with Auburn.

I think there were a lot of rookie mistakes by Smart in his first year and a lot of adjustment by the team wanting to and not wanting to buy in to a higher standard of work ethic. Hopefully more talented, more experienced personnel on the lines helps us grow by leaps and bounds in 2017. 2018 is going to be the true measuring stick of his coaching abiility
