Let's all be supportive of our small school brethren in the FCS playoffs

Yep. I'll never root for Clemson for any reason, let alone for state pride. But I do root for the other state schools when they're not playing us.

I don't keep up with it too much, but every time there are 3-4 teams front SC they're always matched up against each other.

Are all the playoffs designed to make it that regional-like? Similar to the way baseball does it.

No, it's a 24 team playoff in all divisions besides FBS that gives seeds to the top 8. Each part of the bracket is based on ranking in the polls for the respective divisions. I remember the year we played Coastal Carolina, I had a friend that was a linebacker for them, they went to North Dakota to play NDSU.
