PJ Fleck---I think ND goes after him next year.

Joe Moorehead---Current PSU OC, he has good hc experience on lower level (think Chip Kelly)

Mike MacIntyre--current hc of Colorado, has ties to southeast.

Mike Norvell---HC of Memphis

dabo

pros: 1) recruits well ... 2) built his own brand at clemson and is comfy in his own skin, which would serve him well in bama's pressure cooker, as others have stated ... 3) can be hard-nosed when it's needed, as others have noted ... 4) is an alum (imo, every college fan deep down wants an alum to coach the team) ... 5) has made clemson a favorite to be in the hunt every year ... probably a bit underrated regarding his defensive focus ...

cons: 1) bit too rah/rah, as others have noted ... i'm of this opinion, though that's a perception thing since i'm used to bryant/stallings/saban not being rah/rah, though saban is obviously more vocal than bryant and stallings ... probably doesn't matter all that much ... it's who he is ... 2) does not focus on a typical bama style of football - tough defense/establishing the run, above all else, to a large degree ... 3) he's not saban ... 4) can be quirky ... quirkiness does not work at alabama, though he could change that aspect since he doesn't need it as much in tuscaloosa ... or not change it ...

as for the punt thing/onside kick, if a punter runs a fake without the hc's permission, he deserves to have his butt chewed out till the cows come home ... maybe he'd been given a green light to run it whenever he felt it was "there", but i doubt it ... and the onside kick was probably just an 'in the moment' thing ... they've just lost a very, very close game, saban has said some things that should make any fan scratch their head ...

agree with what's been stated - he'd have to be approached as the sole candidate ...

if not dabo, then i'd give serious consideration to fuente ... this year has proven how good a coach he is ...

zero consieration to peterson ... he is not a southern guy and has absolutely no desire to live in tuscaloosa, regardless of family considerations or money offered (belichik? really?) ... he is a west cost/mountain guy ... likewise, shaw will not come to alabama for $10 million a year or any other obscene offer ... these guys aren't mike price ... those are terminal college jobs for them ...

but we don't have to worry about that for another 5 years or so because nicholas lou saban enjoys running alabama's football program more with every passing season ...
