The day I have daily prayers about Vanderbilts rise as a football program is the day I renounce my fandom.
You have plenty of backs behind Webb, but not a single one impressed me at least in our game. Webb is capable of starting at an elite school, him leaving for the draft would be very detrimental.
Mason is a good enough defensive coach that he will still field good units regardless of the personnel available to him. But Zach won the Georgia game nearly on his own, and almost did the same against Auburn, his impact can't be replaced by simply coaching up the younger talent on your roster.
I am holding off on praising Shurmur, statistically he had a great game but our DBs could not cover anyone to save their lives. Scott (? The white guy) seemed to run by our safeties and come down with every deep ball Shurmur threw at him. Sherfield was wide open as well on seemingly every play, as was that TE (Pinkney?). You return all of those guys I think which bodes well for you, but I am not sold on Shurmurs ability against any defense with a pulse
Disagree a bit on your take of Tennessees season. We played well in games vs good teams apart from Bama. We just looked horrendous after the bye week against much easier competition.
