I agree with this, but perception is reality. He took in way more commits than were allowed by the SEC and got them onto campus via loopholes. That gave him "higher" rated classes, but many of those kids had to transfer when he kept grabbing more and more kids every year. Eventually, he did start to pull in some better kids based on the "faux momentum" of previous classes.

Just not true. The EEs counted on the previous year's totals. No year had more than 25 signees cause that's the rule!
