I just don't think 5-7 constitutes a contract extension. I love that we won the EB, I hope we can trend this into a winning season next year.

For me, the last two EB losses, the loss to USA, the lack of effort we previously saw, lack of dedication to our program we saw full bore last off season (no one can deny this)..is inexcusable.

I fully understand now the reasons for holding on to Mullen for dear life given what's going on with LSU. They drop Les Miles only to end up settling on Coach O and now they probably won't get Lane Kiffin at OC either.

I think the pure fact of the matter is that no sane successful coach wants to take on Saban every year. They know they'll be made a fool of. That's what it all boils down to, we won't be able to pull in worthwhile coaches because they are scared slap to death. I'm talking about coaches outside of the SEC currently and why they don't wish to come to the SEC now, especially not the West.

SO..the smart move is to hold on to Mullen..but I still reserve the right to hate it, and hate the situation.

Applewhite to Houston, so Kiffin to LSU as OC is still open. If they can land Kiffin as OC they may could make it work out.

That is a fair assumption. I am probably Mullen's biggest supporter, and even I had some questions about him not giving 100% early in the season.

I think we got better as the season went on with Fitz finally settling in and finally finding a RB in Aeris. Only took 12 games

There are some parallels between this '16 team with the '13 team. I don't think '17 will be as good as '14, but I think we could win at least 6 games next year.
