And Ohio State didn't even win its division. Should be confined to conference champs. If you're not No. 1 in your division,or conference, how can you lay claim to No. 1 in the nation.

If we're going to start ignoring conference champions, then we should just open it up to 64 and make college football's regular season as irrelevant as college basketball's.

That is exactly what Jim Delaney argued for and the rest of the conferences including the SEC voted it down. You don't like it then blame your own conference.

That argument is bullshite. Wisconsin lost straight up to Ohio State and had one more conference loss but still got to play for the conference championship because their division is shite. The whole conference champion argument is useless unless you do a round robin. I want the 4 best teams in the playoffs not the 4 best conference champions.
