I think both sides have an argument honestly, but I think there might be some pretty serious consequences bypassing the conference champ who beat the team that gets in with a head to head as well.

I had no problem with the LSU-AL rematch, but what if AL had gotten in and LSU had not?


EDIT-- I know it is not an apples to apples comparison but it seems hard to find one.


It is hard to say the championships mean something when winning them does not get you in over a team you beat.

If anything, it would make for an argument to just drop the conference championship game and go to an eight team playoff--- and that would be a shame, but there is a danger in the conference championship games being more risk than reward.

Maybe this year is unique, but if it keeps occurring, I think it will make people reevaluate the current system.
