If Clemson and Penn State win convincingly, they will both have just as strong of a case. They could both be in over Ohio State.

If Big 10 champ is left out - then there is an argument that the conference champ games should be eliminated. What is the value?

Same would go for Wisconsin I think.

A dominating performance today will be the last game on the minds of those who make the call.

that would be a very fair question. If you put a team in from a conference and pass the conference champ--- you are ruining the value of the conference championship.

And it is not like Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin or Michigan DESERVE to be in it. They all had losses that took their destiny out of their hands. Any one of these teams could have settled it on the field and kept it out of subjective debate.

There is still value. That doesn't mean it is the decision maker though. Winning a conference helps you look better. It doesn't necessarily make you a top 4 team.
