That's actually not true. Here's a list of P5 schools who have not made the tournament in the past 5 years and still have the same coach.
Clemson
Florida State
Penn State
Washington
And a special shout out to Northwestern who have never made the NCAA tournament.
Also if these schools don't make the tourney this year then you can them to the list.
DePaul (Big East counts as a power conference)
Illinois
South Carolina

You're right. I just quoted what the article said. Florida State made it 5 years ago and Northwestern's coach is in Year 4, so Clemson, PSU and Washington are the only 3 to go 5 years without a tourney appearance for 5 years and not fire their coach.
